Plastics are integral part of society and have varied application across various industries. Every day, we come in contact with hundreds of different plastic products, out of which, over a whopping 50% plastic is discarded without proper management. Due to its vast usage, the portion of our garbage that is made up of plastic has also increased alarmingly. Some of these plastics are considered to be very dangerous waste materials that take thousands of years to disintegrate and break down into organic components. Due to their longevity and the low rate of recycling, much of our plastic waste ends up in landfills or as litter, some even making their way into the ocean where they directly or indirectly affect living organisms and create an increasingly high impact on marine life at a macro and micro scale.
Believe it or not, the plastic processing industry is in India is estimated to grow to 22 million tonnes this year from 13.4 MT in 2015 with nearly half of this consisting of single-use plastic. With limited sustainable recovery of plastics, there is a growing global demand to reduce the generation of such plastics. And we are committed to effectively and efficiently manage even the most dangerous plastics to ease the world from its burden of plastic pollution.
